In the review, I will discuss these topics since there is still a lot of misinformation surrounding memory foam mattresses that use bamboo or aloe vera.

On April 8, 2014, Brentwood Home introduced the 13-inch Gel HD Memory Foam Mattress made in USA. Their website contains a comprehensive FAQ about how to care for their products. They seem to be experienced mattress manufacturers since they’ve been in business for over 30 years.

How thick/dense is the memory foam layer?

The top layer is 3.5 inches thick and is made of memory foam infused with gel.

This top layer exceeds my expectations since I always recommend purchasing a memory foam mattress with a top layer of at least 3″.

There are two layers of gel memory foam. The top layer is 3.5 inches thick and has a density of 4 pounds per cubic foot, which is ideal for back sleepers but perhaps too firm for side and stomach sleepers.

What is the actual thickness of the foam in the supporting layers?

I am interested in the Brentwood Home 13-inch Gel HD Memory Foam Mattress because of its 3-layered mattress design. The more layers a mattress has, the better, but you always have to watch out for 3 layered mattresses that are too “wishy-washy.” In other words, some mediocre 3-layered mattresses may feel quite weird when you try to shift your weight on them. All three layers may move independently, which is terrible. As you will see later, the Brentwood Home won’t be like that.

Natural Bamboo Cover Brentwood Home chose bamboo because it is a soft and strong natural fiber. After trying this cover, I liked it better than most cotton covers I reviewed. Bamboo isn’t common among the -covers I’ve reviewed.

2-Inch Layer -A 2-inch layer of ventilated support foam is used on the second layer. Note that this layer is not memory foam but rather a foam. Firmness

While firmness is subjective and a matter of opinion, if we were to rate the Brentwood Home Bamboo Gel Infused HD Memory Foam mattress a score of 1 to 10, we would rate it a 5.5 (10 being the firmest.) In terms of firmness, it is considered the middle of the road, so anyone can use it.

Comfort

The comfort that this mattress delivered was outstanding. We found the cover to be extremely soft, and the top layer of gel memory foam started conforming to the body almost immediately as we laid on it. It contoured well, but not too much so that you feel like you’re being swallowed up.

Especially for couples who share a bed, motion transfer is an important factor in determining the level of comfort delivered by a mattress. When you are sleeping with a partner, there is nothing more frustrating than feeling their movement, but with the Brentwood Home mattress, you won’t feel it at all. We didn’t detect any motion transfer.

We noticed a slight odor when we first received the Brentwood Home Cypress Gel Memory Foam mattress. This odor dissipated after leaving it in an open room for a few hours. Brentwood Home Bamboo mattress came with a slight odor when it was first unpacked. This odor was mild, and we simply left it in a room with the windows open for a few hours.

Intimacy

Intimacy can often be difficult on foam mattresses. Because the foam absorbs motion, it prevents you from feeling any movement in the mattress; however, it does minimize the bounce the mattress offers. To enjoy intimacy, you usually need to exert extra effort. 

With the Brentwood Home Cypress Memory Foam mattress, we noticed that more energy will be required to enjoy those adventurous bedroom activities than would be necessary on an innerspring mattress; however, it did provide better bounce back than other foam mattresses we have tried.

Heat Regulation

The Brentwood Home 13-inch mattress does an excellent job of regulating body temperature. I have slept on this mattress for 7 nights and experienced a cool, relaxing temperature all 7 nights! 

Due to my experience with memory foam mattresses, I usually expect them to be hotter than other mattresses. In this case, however, it was the exact opposite.
